Dialogue In The Dark unlike any experience ever seen

Look around you.

Now, imagine navigating your surroundings without being guided by your sense of sight. This weekend, you can experience a sightless world through the internationally acclaimed Dialogue In The Dark exhibition, where the blind will lead the blind.

Visually impaired tour guides will lead small groups of visitors – each equipped with an authentic walking cane – through a completely darkened space for an hour, where different sensations such as sounds, temperatures, textures will turn daily routines in the dark into new experiences.

Even the most familiar places can become foreign when shrouded in darkness, but fear not: the guides also provide security and a sense of orientation to visitors entering a world without pictures.

Dialogue In The Dark organises events in complete darkness that promise powerful, enlightening experiences for leadership and talent development. Since 1988, they have held events in more than 120 cities in 30 countries.

Through Dialogue In The Dark, over seven million sighted people worldwide left their comfort zone by temporarily losing their sense of sight. The exhibition – the first of its kind in PJ Live Arts – will demonstrate that the sightless world is not poorer, just different.

And if a 2006 survey finding is anything to go by, the exhibition promises to be an unforgettable one: 100% of visitors who were questioned about their experience five years later remembered their eye-opening journey in the dark.

Dialogue In The Dark runs from March 23 – 24 at the Theatre @ PJ Live Arts, Level 1 Block L Palm Square @ Jaya One, 72A Jalan Universiti, 46200 Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Tours take place at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm. Tickets are RM35. For details, call +6017 2289849 (12pm–7pm daily) or visit www.tix.my.
